At the Belonging Network (formerly Adoptive Families Association of BC), we provide support, learning, and connection for adoptive and permanency families and youth from government care.

Adoption and Permanency Awareness Month

Join us in raising awareness about children and youth in BC who are waiting for permanency and celebrate permanent families of all kinds.

Programs & workshops

Everyone finding or raising a permanency family needs special support. So do youth who are moving from government care into adulthood. Learn with us and gain the skills and confidence you need to navigate adoption, permanency, or independent adulthood. All of our educational opportunities are offered online so you can join us from wherever you are.

Introduction to Adoption and Permanency

This self-paced course is for anyone wanting to learn about adoption and permanency in BC, especially those interested in adopting from foster care.

Let’s Connect

An drop-in online support group for those parenting children or youth through adoption or permanency. This group meets weekly, alternating between Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesdays from 12 to 1 p.m.

Caregiver Wellness workshop

This workshop focuses on supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of adoptive and permanency parents and caregivers. In this session, we will acknowledge these complexities and equip parents and caregivers with practical tools to help them maintain resilience, strengthen family bonds, and prioritize their own well-being.
