At the Belonging Network (formerly Adoptive Families Association of BC), we provide support, learning, and connection for adoptive and permanency families and youth from government care in BC.

Circle of Security parenting program

This eight-week program is for parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 12. It offers a visual ‘map’ of caregiver-child attachment and focuses on strengthening relationships through responsive parenting. The course includes video clips, discussions, and hands-on activities.

Programs & workshops

Everyone finding or raising a permanency family needs special support. So do youth who are moving from government care into adulthood. Learn with us and gain the skills and confidence you need to navigate adoption, permanency, or independent adulthood. All of our educational opportunities are offered online so you can join us from wherever you are.

Introduction to Adoption and Permanency

This self-paced course is for anyone wanting to learn about adoption and permanency in BC, especially those interested in adopting from foster care.

Face to Face Connections: Online parent meetup

April 7: This virtual meetup provides a welcoming space for adoptive and permanency parents and caregivers to share experiences, support one another, and build a strong community — all from the comfort of your home.

April 9: This online workshop, led by Andrea Chatwin, founder of A Child's Song, is for parents of teens and tweens with developmental trauma who want to better understand the changes that can come with adolescence.
