Applications are now open for the Belonging Network’s three annual bursary programs.

These bursaries provide financial support to help youth pursue college or university, a trade, or other education and training programs. Bursary funds can be used for tuition and related expenses, including living costs while studying.

About our bursaries

TELUS Orca Student Bursary, powered by Belonging Network

Formerly the BC Orca Bursary Program, the TELUS Orca Student Bursary, powered by Belonging Network provides financial assistance to current and former youth in government care who are pursuing post-secondary studies.

In 2025, Belonging Network partnered with the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® to launch the TELUS Orca Student Bursary, powered by Belonging Network. This 10-year commitment will provide more than 200 bursaries to youth from care across Canada.

Joy MacPhail Youth Bursary

Vancouver Film Studios Indigenous Bursary

The Vancouver Film Studios Indigenous Bursary Program provides financial assistance to Indigenous people of all ages who plan to pursue any kind of formal or informal career-related education or training in BC.

There is $12,000 in funding available through this program. Bursary amounts vary based on applicant needs, with a maximum of $3,000 awarded to one applicant.

The deadline to apply is May 12 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Recipients will be notified of the status of their application by June 15, 2026.

Thanks to our donors, these bursary programs help youth pursue their education and training goals. Please help spread the word so more people know this support is available.
