Placement stability means ensuring a child stays in a consistent, secure, and supportive living environment, whether it's kinship care or an adoptive home. It’s about minimizing disruptions and moves so that children can build lasting relationships and feel a true sense of belonging and security.
In this one-hour workshop, we'll cover essential topics and effective support strategies to promote stability before and after placement.
The session will be facilitated by Ashleigh Martinflatt. With more than 20 years of experience in the permanency field, Ashleigh has dedicated her career to supporting the needs of children and youth in/from care as a clinical counsellor and university professor. She holds a Master of Social Work and is a Ph.D. candidate in Child and Youth Care. Most importantly, she is also a parent through adoption.
