Join us for a fun-filled family afternoon at the Museum of Surrey!

This event is open to adoptive and permanency families with children of all ages. While parents connect, children can dive into the museum’s interactive exhibits, play in the TD Explore Zone, and enjoy a festive display of Christmas trees. There will also be a scavenger hunt for all to enjoy.

Admission is free, and parking is available on-site. Children and teens who attend will receive a $5 gift card to enjoy a treat at the Dairy Queen across from the museum or at any other Dairy Queen location.

Our Face to Face Connections events are organized by volunteers. You will receive an email with the volunteer’s contact information the day before the event.

Why join the Face to Face Connections events? Connecting with other adoptive and permanency families can bring real benefits. Meeting others who share similar experiences can ease feelings of isolation, deepen your understanding of your child’s unique needs, and boost your confidence as a parent or caregiver. Through these connections, you can build a strong support network within a community that genuinely understands and supports your journey.

For children and youth, these gatherings foster a unique sense of belonging.  Connecting with peers who truly “get it” helps them feel understood. Sharing stories with others who have similar experiences can boost self-esteem and build friendships, making it easier—and much less lonely—to navigate complex emotions.
