As teens and tweens go through puberty, they need age-appropriate support for their mental health and forming a healthy sense of self. In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will discuss how to prepare for welcoming a tween or teen into your home, along with strategies for building a relationship and attachment. We will also explore common feelings and challenges associated with parenting a teen or tween. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.

The session will be facilitated by Ashleigh Martinflatt. With more than 20 years of experience in the permanency field, Ashleigh has dedicated her career to supporting the needs of children and youth in/from care as a clinical counsellor and university professor. Most importantly, she is also a parent through adoption.
