Across BC, communities are coming together to celebrate with music, dancing, food, storytelling, and more. Whether you’re attending as a family, with friends, or on your own, these gatherings are a chance to connect, learn, and show support.

Here are some events taking place across the province in 2025:

Lower Mainland

Main St & E Hastings St, Vancouver

June 21 | 12 to 6 p.m.

Join the 3rd Annual National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration Block Party! This fun and welcoming event is hosted by the Carnegie Community Centre with support from the City of Vancouver.

Enjoy live music, cultural performances, and time together as a community to honour and celebrate Indigenous Peoples.

Grandview Park, Vancouver

June 21 | 12 to 4 p.m.

Enjoy a warm welcome from Chief Bill Williams of the Squamish Nation, engaging hosting by Josiah Amaya—an advocate and storyteller who brings energy and heart to every event—and live art by Jesse Gouchey, a self-taught, award-winning Cree Métis artist.

Presented by Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society, VACFSS, VACPC, Sage Nation Society, and Britannia Community Services Centre, this event will feature live performances, an Indigenous market, and cultural sharing.

Ambleside Park, West Vancouver

June 21 | 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Organized by the District of West Vancouver, this gathering will take place at Ambleside Park by the Welcome Figure that marks K’aya’chtn (gathering of ocean canoes).

Join Canoe Families and enjoy activities on the beach, live music throughout the evening featuring Squamish Nation performers, and a closing performance by Bitterly Divine. A salmon dinner will be cooked over an open fire—make sure you don’t miss it!
