The name of the Society is THE BELONGING NETWORK SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES AND YOUTH ASSOCIATION

The purposes of the Society are:

  • To address and prevent problems faced by children and youth by creating opportunities for adoption and permanency.
  • To address and prevent problems faced by children and youth by providing supports to adoptees and persons from permanency backgrounds.
  • To address and prevent problems faced by children, youth, and families by providing supports to prospective and adoptive and other permanency families, other caregivers and professionals, to assist with ongoing issues relating to the raising of children and youth with related high-support needs.
  • To address and prevent problems faced by youth by providing supports for youth and young adults in and from foster and other forms of government care, to help them make the transition to adulthood
  • To address and prevent problems faced by children, youth and families by providing educational resources focused on topics related to adoption, permanency and youth transitions to adulthood with the aim of equipping families, professionals, and the broader community with continuous opportunities to enhance their understanding and abilities in raising children and improving the likelihood of success for adoptive and other permanency families.
  • To advance education by undertaking research on topics related to adoption, permanency and youth transitions to adulthood, for the purpose of expanding the collective knowledge base on adoption and permanency.
  • To do such things as may be ancillary and/or incidental to the attainment of the above charitable purposes.

Bylaws

Our current bylaws were approved and confirmed by Special Resolution of the Members at a duly called meeting of the Members, by a majority of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the votes cast, on the 17th day of September, 2024.
