Membership application or renewal

Members are critical to the healthy functioning of the Belonging Network. Contribute your voice and experience by: 

•    Attending our Annual General Meeting (AGM)
•    Voting on important motions
•    Electing board members whose passion and skills propel the organization forward

Regular membership is for adult (19+) members of the adoption and permanency community. This includes adoptive parents, kinship caregivers, guardians, adoptees, and former youth in care). Regular members in good standing have the right to vote at General Meetings. Memberships can be shared with family members living in the same household. However, voting rights are limited to one vote per membership. 

Youth membership is for youth 14-18 years old who are adopted or in government care. Youth members in good standing can automatically become Regular members once they turn 19.

Advisory membership is for professionals serving the adoption, permanency, and government care community. A single professional memberships can be shared by all staff of an organization or business. Advisory members may not vote, hold office, or elect board members. Please note: Advisory membership used to be called Professional membership. We are in the process of updating our membership form; in the meantime, if you want to sign up for an Advisory membership, please select “Professional” on the form.

Honorary membership is occasionally awarded to individuals as a token of appreciation by the Association at its discretion. Honorary members may not vote, hold office, or elect board members. You cannot apply for Honorary membership.
