If you are in the Okanagan area and would like to meet other adoptive families, join us for a fun-filled day of skating at Rutland Arena in Kelowna!

This event welcomes families with kids of all ages. Everyone is invited to join the fun on the ice or relax and watch from the sidelines. We’ll meet during public skate time, and there will be a small admission fee (details below). Don’t have skates? No worries—skates and helmets are available for rent!

Our Face to Face Connections events are organized by volunteers. You will receive an email with the volunteer’s contact information the day before the event.

Why join the Face to Face Connections events? Connecting with other adoptive and permanency families can bring real benefits. Meeting others who share similar experiences can ease feelings of isolation, deepen your understanding of your child’s unique needs, and boost your confidence as a parent or caregiver. Through these connections, you can build a strong support network within a community that genuinely understands and supports your journey.

For children and youth, these gatherings foster a unique sense of belonging.  Connecting with peers who truly “get it” helps them feel understood. Sharing stories with others who have similar experiences can boost self-esteem and build friendships, making it easier—and much less lonely—to navigate complex emotions.
