Join us for a festive family afternoon at Burnaby Village Museum!

This event is open to adoptive and permanency families with children of all ages. Together, we'll explore the beautifully decorated heritage Christmas village, enjoy holiday lights and themed entertainment, and visit exhibits featuring sports and games. Families can also meet Father Christmas, join a scavenger hunt, and take a ride on the carousel ($2.62 per ride).

Admission is free, and the café will be open for anyone wishing to purchase refreshments. Most of the museum is outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Our Face-to-Face Connections events are organized by volunteers. You will receive an email with the volunteer’s contact information the day before the event.

When: Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Where: Burnaby Village Museum, 6501 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3T6

Why join the Face to Face Connections events? Connecting with other adoptive and permanency families can bring real benefits. Meeting others who share similar experiences can ease feelings of isolation, deepen your understanding of your child’s unique needs, and boost your confidence as a parent or caregiver. Through these connections, you can build a strong support network within a community that genuinely understands and supports your journey.

For children and youth, these gatherings foster a unique sense of belonging.  Connecting with peers who truly “get it” helps them feel understood. Sharing stories with others who have similar experiences can boost self-esteem and build friendships, making it easier—and much less lonely—to navigate complex emotions.
